Emilia Silva affection known as Milu founded and manages the sanctuary. In 1993 Milu found a little dog on the streets in a terrible condition. She took her in and got her healthy and her passion for saving these poor unwanted dogs was born.
In 2007 Milu purchased some land to accomodate her ever growing pack and in 2011 her charity was founded.
Milu’s motto is

At any one time around 750 dogs live at Milu’s Corner. No dog is tuned away, everyday dogs are abandoned at the gates or handed in by people who no longer want their dogs or by relatives of owners who have passed. Its a constant struggle to feed and care for the dogs all of whom are vaccinated, spayed and even operated on if they require
